GFX-1600SW
The GFX-1600 adapter provides the necessary link between the two digital
protocols and is designed to plug into a standard PCI card extension slot.
Using the computer's PCI bus provides the card with a ready-made housing
and power supply for the card. Since the board design does not include any of
the PCI signals that reside on that bus, it doesn't need any software drivers in
order to work. Therefore, the operation of the 1600 adapter is transparent to
the the host's graphics card and Windows environment and does not prompt a
"New Hardware Found" alert message.
Use Your Choice of Computers and Graphics Cards
The versatile new GFX-1600 Adapter turns the ultimate flat panel monitor into
a digital display that is compatible with all the digital interface protocols on
the market today. The GFX-1600 adapter enables the Silicon Graphics
1600SW flat panel display to accept either DVI-Digital or Digital Flat Panel
(DFP) signals by converting them into the monitor's market-leading LVDS
digital interface. This provides broad compatibility with a wide variety of video
cards.
Both the panel brightness and color temperature can be adjusted by toggling
4 rocker switches located on the 1600SW board in various combinations.
Brightness levels of 100%, 85%, 70% and 50% are supported as well as color
temperature settings of 5000 degK, 5800 degK (max brightness), and 6500
degK depending on the aging characteristics of the lamps in the panel's
backlight.
